I’m literally losing patience with Indian football. What kind of performance is this? We cry about the coach, but look at how we’re playing…no structure, just running with the ball and passing aimlessly. Meanwhile, Syria looks calm and composed. We need to work on tactics and player development to compete at this level.
Syria were clearly tactically and technically superior. We are unknowingly over expecting from out team. Except 1 or 2 players, This team is just ordinary and sometimes mediocre. Cannot expect extraordinary things from ordinary players.
India vs Syria: Match Analysis
Syrian side has shown excellent performance against both India and Mauritius. They smoothly won against India. Indian side lacking in quality in all departments. Surely, there was lack of preperation but at this level poor performances in Intercontinental Cup shows the poor condition of Indian football. Team was lacking physicality, technicality, strategy and everything. Defence was nowhere. Syrian side was easily by-passing the defence line. Syrian side looked more controlled. Nobody knows untill when Indian football team shows performances like these. Fans are really disappointed with the team performance. Nowadays, Indian fans are supporting the national football team and there is growing love for football in youths in all parts of India. India needs to have right structure to grow Indian football. India needs to have right people in football all football associations. Right now all the old politicians who have no interest in football leading these different football associations across India.
India vs Mauritius
India vs Mauritius Post Match Analysis
It was the first game under new Coach Manolo Márquez. The team had just two training sessions. Also, it was first game without Indian Football legend Sunil Chetri. Indian Team couldn´t do best. Manolo Marquez had different strategy than team´s previous manager Igor and it was obviously seen on the pitch. Indian players weren´t looking enough fit, and couldn´t score a goal against Mauritius. Team lacked hunger to perform. In Coach´s own words “It was a boring game”.
How new coach Manolo turn things around Indian football would be surprising to see. As there were a lot of controversy when Igor Stimac was sacked. Indian football going nowhere. India is still sleeping giant. How would Indian football be as good as what it is in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Qatar or Japan, nobody knows. Most of the governing bodies are filled with politicians who don´t care about football. This is the worst phase of Indian football as Indian football team is failing to qualify world cup qualifiers next rounds.
