Argentina will play against Colombia on July 15th in the Copa America 2024 final. The final will take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez scored the opening goal, and Messi’s 109th goal led defending champion Argentina to a 2-0 victory over Canada, securing their place in the final. With a win on its Independence Day, Argentina extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games.
“We have to enjoy every moment of what we’re living,” Messi said. “I’m conscious that these are the last battles.”
James Rodriguez and his Colombia side continued to impress in Copa America 2024, with a 1-0 win against Uruguay in the semifinal, booking a summit clash with defending champion Argentina. Colombia has stretched its unbeaten run to 28 games, showcasing their formidable form.
Before that, there were ugly scenes in the stands when Uruguay players went to the stands to fight. Darwin Núñez and about a dozen Uruguay teammates went into the stands as fans brawled at Bank of America Stadium following Uruguay’s 1-0 loss to Colombia in a Copa América semifinal on Wednesday night before security personnel stepped in to restore order.
The Argentine side looks impressive, with almost the entire squad from the 2022 World Cup. However, the Colombian team is equally prepared for the final. It will be an interesting final to watch, as both sides are dominant in their current form, giving them an equal chance to lift the trophy.
